About the Role
This is a full-time night position in the Respiratory Therapy department at UAB St. Vincent's East. PRN opportunities are also available.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and provide care for patients with respiratory issues.
- Assess treatment needs, develop and implement care plans, monitor patient progress, and operate respiratory equipment.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness, administer medications, and perform advanced respiratory procedures.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and community resources.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment, manage supplies, and ensure proper sterilization.
- Respond to emergency resuscitation calls.
Requirements
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist from the NBRC.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
Schedule
Full-time nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, every 3rd weekend.
