Certified Respiratory Therapist

About the Role

Provide comprehensive respiratory care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. Assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and monitor patient progress. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate medication administration, and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Educate patients and families about health conditions and available community resources. Maintain and calibrate equipment, manage departmental supplies, and adhere to sterilization procedures. Respond to emergency resuscitation calls as needed.

Requirements

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.

Skills

• Strong assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
• Ability to operate and maintain respiratory equipment effectively.
• Capable of responding swiftly to emergency situations.
