About the role
Under medical supervision, administers general and regional anesthesia for various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures, ensuring patient safety across all age groups. Responsibilities include airway management, fluid and homeostasis maintenance, monitoring, emergency response, and ventilator management.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to organizational policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Evaluates patients pre-operatively, reviews charts, and collaborates with anesthesiologists to select appropriate anesthesia.
- Provides age-appropriate care, monitors intraoperative and postoperative patient conditions, and responds to emergencies.
- Prepares and administers anesthesia, maintains equipment, and documents procedures accurately.
- Supervises student nurse anesthetists and maintains compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintains professional relations with patients, staff, and the public.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in California and certified as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
- Hold national certification, NPI, and current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience in anesthesia for major procedures, with skills in monitoring, equipment, documentation, and staff education.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with extensive monitoring, fluid, blood, and electrolyte management for diverse patient populations.
- Strong technical, clinical, and communication skills, with a focus on safety, productivity, and professional development.
