About the role

The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department of Anesthesia is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population.
  • Work directly under the supervision of Adult Anesthesiologists and as part of a team of highly trained and dedicated professionals.
  • Participate in various surgical specialties including Cardiac, Whipple, Neurosurgery, and Regional Pain teams.
  • Perform procedures such as placement of central lines, arterial lines, fiber optic intubation, neuraxial anesthesia, and double lumen endotracheal tube placement.
  • Join specialty teams and participate in teaching opportunities.

Requirements

  • Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
  • Master’s degree in Anesthesiology or Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Board certification for CRNA candidates.
  • Previous CAA/CRNA experience in Adult Anesthesiology or Adult Health Care experience preferred.
  • Wisconsin licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • AHA BCLS and/or ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia techniques and protocols.

  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices.

Pay

Competitive salary with sign-on bonus.

Schedule

Variety of schedules available, including 1 week on/1 week off, 3x13 hour shifts, same day off each week, etc.
