Location: Avera St Mary's Hospital – Day Shift
Position Highlights
- May be eligible for up to a $100,000 sign-on bonus
- Weekend call requirements: one weekend every 6 weeks (1.6)
- Weekday call: approximately 1 per week
- Post-call day off; incentive to work post-call if needed
- Response time: 20 minutes
- CME: $3,500 annually
- Weekday shifts: 06:30 to 15:00

Cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.
Responsibilities
- Performs a pre-operative patient assessment
- Determines a plan of care and communicates the plan to patient and family
- Establishes and maintains essential venous access
- Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway
- Responsible for inducting, maintaining the anesthesia, and proper monitoring
- Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia
- Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure
- Performs post-operative follow-up for each case performed
- Performs as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students
Requirements
- Ability to work the specified hours
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Board of Nursing: active license in the state of practice (upon hire)
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing: active license in the state of practice (upon hire)
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) (upon hire)
