Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) | ASM

Location: Avera St Mary's Hospital – Day Shift

Position Highlights

• May be eligible for up to a $100,000 sign-on bonus
• Weekend call requirements: one weekend every 6 weeks (1.6)
• Weekday call: approximately 1 per week
• Post-call day off; incentive to work post-call if needed
• Response time: 20 minutes
• CME: $3,500 annually
• Weekday shifts: 06:30 to 15:00

Cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.

Responsibilities

• Performs a pre-operative patient assessment
• Determines a plan of care and communicates the plan to patient and family
• Establishes and maintains essential venous access
• Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway
• Responsible for inducting, maintaining the anesthesia, and proper monitoring
• Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia
• Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure
• Performs post-operative follow-up for each case performed
• Performs as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students

Requirements

• Ability to work the specified hours
• Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
• Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) – Board of Nursing: active license in the state of practice (upon hire)
• Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing: active license in the state of practice (upon hire)
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) (upon hire)
