About the role
The Recovery Support Services Division of Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to support individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. The CRS serves as a mentor, role model, advocate, and motivator, helping individuals prevent relapse and achieve long-term recovery.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in initiating and sustaining recovery through peer-based services
- Aid in connecting to community-based recovery supports and resources
- Facilitate regular one-on-one recovery sessions focused on goals, strengths, and wellness
- Promote self-advocacy, independence, and personal responsibility
- Collaborate with treatment teams, families, and community partners
- Participate in treatment team meetings and offer a recovery-focused perspective
- Encourage participation in sober social, recreational, educational, and vocational activities
- Support individuals in rebuilding healthy relationships
- Advocate for individuals while fostering skill-building and independence
- Connect individuals to: Mutual-help groups, Social and volunteer opportunities, Employment resources
- Provide recovery education based on individual needs and recovery stage
- Serve as a positive role model when clinically appropriate
- Maintain recovery stability and assist with referrals as needed
- Help individuals overcome common early recovery barriers
- Develop and update individualized recovery plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services and outcomes
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and continuing education
Requirements
- Active Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) certification (required at time of hire)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a substance use or behavioral health setting
- 1 year of direct peer support experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of 18 hours annually
- Completion of 30 hours over a two-year certification cycle
- Must meet PCB CRS recertification standards

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
