Position Responsibilities

  • Maintains project logs, reports, and records in appropriate files and databases.
  • Works with grant program coordinator to collect data to meet grant reporting requirements.
  • Provides recovery education to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization and sustained recovery maintenance.
  • Develops relationships with referral sources to ensure interactions which will promote that patient’s recovery; participates in joint treatment planning as appropriate.
  • Supports participants within the treatment setting and outside the treatment setting.
  • Presents cases for supervision; responds to input and direction of supervisor (and Medical Director if appropriate).
  • Consults with Supervisor concerning medical and psychiatric emergencies; follows written policies, consults with Psychologist and Psychiatrist as needed.
  • Maintains standards of Professional conduct and adheres to the Canon of Ethics for Addiction Professionals.
  • Maintains production as required.
  • Completes clinical documentation within regulatory standards and good professional practice.
  • Models recovery for others by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
  • Aids in the development of recovery plans for individuals.
  • Promotes self-advocacy by assisting persons to have their voices fully heard.
  • Serves as a liaison between clients and community-based support services.
  • Collaborates with the CD multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Assists with patient transportation responsibilities.
  • Attends meetings with the community to discuss recovery initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification, provisional certifications will be considered.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
  • Experience coordinating services for or on behalf of other individuals.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of substance abuse treatment systems, support services.
