Certified RBTs & RBT Trainees (Not Yet Certified)
About the role
Hawai‘i Behavioral Health (HBH) is seeking Certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and RBT Trainees across Oahu, Maui, and Hawai‘i Island. Positions are part-time, flexible, and offer opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Provide support addressing communication, behavior, feeding, and social skill development
- Maintain accurate session documentation and communicate with the clinical team
- Services are provided in-home, in-community, and/or clinic settings
Requirements
- Active RBT Certification preferred (Candidates not yet certified may apply for the sponsored trainee program)
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required (official transcripts required)
- Current CPR/BLS Certification required
- Current First Aid Certification required
- TB Test Background Check; completed by employer during Pre-Hire Status
- Reliable transportation
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to travel between service locations preferred
Qualifications
HBH provides the required 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) ONLINE training course at no cost, along with guidance and support from our ABA team throughout the training and certification process. The training and onboarding process typically takes 6–8 weeks to complete, depending on individual progress and credentialing requirements.

Pay
$25.00 – $29.00 per hour; based on experience
Schedule
Minimum 15 billable hours per week, flexible scheduling options including afternoons/evenings preferred.

- Current Oahu In-Home Support Needs: Laie, Kaneohe, Mililani, Waianae / Kapolei (Leeward area), Military Installations (Base Access Required)
- Current Oahu Clinic Support Needs: 1330 Ala Moana Blvd. Suite 1, Honolulu, HI 96814
- Additional areas available
RBT Trainee Program
- Provides 40-Hour RBT Training through Central Reach Institute
- Support through the BACB certification process
- Compensation begins only after all training, credentialing, and onboarding requirements have been successfully completed and you are approved to begin providing direct services to clients
- The 40-hour RBT training course is provided at no cost, but registration fees, competency assessment and examination fees, travel expenses, and any other associated costs (i.e. CPR/First Aide) are the responsibility of the trainee and will not be paid or reimbursed by HBH
- Upon successful completion of the RBT certification process and the start of employment, participants are expected to fulfill a 360 billable-hour employment commitment with HBH
