About the role

Performs routine radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable examinations in the diagnostic department of Radiology, on nursing units, outpatient areas, and the surgery department.

Responsibilities

  • Takes radiographs per physician orders.
  • Operates across all areas within the diagnostic department of Radiology.
  • Protects all patients and employees from unnecessary radiation.
  • Understands front-desk operations, computer systems, and reports equipment problems to manager and Clinical Engineers.
  • Schedules all exams throughout the department and alerts a supervisor when necessary.
  • Uses the centralized transport program for patient transportation.
  • Retrieves, updates, reprints, or cancels patient exam information in computer systems as needed.
  • Interacts professionally with other departments.
  • Calls in on-call imaging associates as required.
  • Reports all equipment problems to the clinical engineering 24-hour phone line and communicates messages to coworkers.
  • Alerts managers to equipment problems, including paging during on-call periods if necessary.
  • Remains available for assignment as needed.
  • Assists Radiologic Technologist Students.
  • Performs duties related to equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance (ODH, Joint Commission), supply ordering, staff scheduling, and hospital/departmental audits.
  • Accesses patient records as needed to conduct the business of medical imaging.

Requirements

  • Certified Radiology Technologist with 1 year of radiology experience.
  • Licenses: RAD-OH (copy needed).
  • Certifications: R-ARRT (copy needed); BLS-AHA (copy needed).
  • SSN and date of birth required.
  • Work history with no more than a 30-day gap in employment.
  • 1 reference from the last 12 months.
