Certified Pharmacy Technician, Inpatient, 1st/2nd shift

Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Pharmacist in the medication use process by providing safe and efficient medication management and patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric), physicians, employees, and the public.
• Follow appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.
• Function in a team-oriented environment to provide medications to patients.
• Perform IV admixture and assist the pharmacist with dispensing medications.
• Maintain medications in unit-based cabinets.
• Take verbal refill approvals from provider’s offices.
• Conduct insurance verification.
• Work with technology and handle deliveries of medications.

Requirements

• Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• One of the following Kentucky licensures:
  • Pharmacy Technician (PHT), KY
  • Pharmacy Intern (PHI), KY

Register for licensure through the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy (desired).
