Responsibilities
- Support and assist the Pharmacist in the medication use process by providing safe and efficient medication management and patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric), physicians, employees, and the public.
- Follow appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.
- Function in a team-oriented environment to provide medications to patients.
- Perform IV admixture and assist the pharmacist with dispensing medications.
- Maintain medications in unit-based cabinets.
- Take verbal refill approvals from provider’s offices.
- Conduct insurance verification.
- Work with technology and handle deliveries of medications.

Requirements
- Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
- One of the following Kentucky licensures:
- Pharmacy Technician (PHT), KY
- Pharmacy Intern (PHI), KY
Register for licensure through the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy (desired).
