Certified Pharmacy Technician III

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician III Certified Acute Care performs complex functions in compounding and pharmacy distribution, as well as obtaining medication histories, to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost‑effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflows, troubleshoots complex situations and technology, and upholds the quality of regulatory activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pharmacy workflow, including compounding hazardous and non‑hazardous IV medications and distributing medication in compliance with current standards.
• Obtain complete and accurate medication histories based on organization standards.
• Serve as a reference for other pharmacy technicians.
• Mentor and train new employees during orientation.
• Communicate effectively with team members inside and outside of pharmacy, providing quality customer service.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 5 years of relevant experience (4 years may be considered). Successful completion (graduation) of a CH‑accredited technician training program is considered equivalent to 2 years of experience.
• Licensure/Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician; must complete an advanced pharmacy technician certification within 12 months of starting the role.
