Certified Pharmacy Technician I - Evening Shift

Our Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to providing the highest quality clinical pharmaceutical care to children, integrating research findings into clinical practice as swiftly as possible.

Responsibilities

• Under direct pharmacist supervision, perform a variety of routine technical and clerical support tasks (e.g., medication dispensing, prescription filling, mail-out order processing) within pharmaceutical services operations as per established policies and procedures.
• Prepare unit dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, and intravenous admixtures to assist in the preparation and delivery of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Support in filing and maintenance of patient records as per procedures.
• Assist in ordering, stocking, and distribution of inventory throughout the pharmacy and the institution (e.g., nursing floor, emergency supply carts) while maintaining accurate levels of inventory as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

• Minimum Education and/or Training: High school diploma/GED required.
• Minimum Experience: High school diploma/GED required. Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred (e.g., parenteral/unit dose medication preparation, medication dispensing, inventory management, drug classifications).
• Some experience with software tools to maintain documentation/records preferred.
• Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law: Registration of Pharmacy Technician License with the State of Tennessee required (LC: PHRMTCH-TN). Registration must be renewed every two (2) years.
• Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only: Pharmacy Technician Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required (LC: PTCB-PTECH).

Qualifications

• Apexus Certified Expert (ACE) preferred.
• Pharmacy Basic Life Support (CPR) preferred.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $20.50 - $34.50 per hour for the role of Certified Pharmacy Technician I - Evening Shift.

Schedule

Shift options: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off Schedule: Wednesday through Tuesday, 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Monday through Friday Schedule: 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rotating weekends.
