Certified Pharmacy Technician (Evening Shift)

Description

This position is located at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Evening shift position (1430 - 2300 with every 3rd weekend requirement).

What You Will Do

• Establish a working identity with our Pharmacy Team and continue to build upon our culture
• Following in depth, role specific training.
• Team responsibilities include:
• Preparation of sterile products (including chemotherapy) using aseptic technique, in compliance with regulatory standards
• Preparation of non-sterile products (including hazardous medication), in compliance with regulatory standards
• Repackaging of bulk oral medication using our Parata Systems and Medical Packaging Inc robots
• Facilitating medication dispensing via Automated Dispensing Cabinets on our patient care units
• Aids in the dispensing of orders/prescriptions through our pharmacy inventory system
• Aids in inventory control by processing our daily Pharmacy Department order; assuring proper stock rotation, storage and appropriate expiration dating
• Escalates medication and non-medication orders to the Purchasing Team
• Aids the department with proper billing of patients and other units

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent
• Licensure / Certification: Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification. Active registration as a Certified Tech with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred
• Effective Communication Skills
• Aptitude in mathematical manipulations (ratios, proportions, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions)
• A desire to career build, with ambition to elevate their working pharmacy knowledge to the extent of their Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification
