Certified Pharmacy Tech

About the Role

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, you will assist Pharmacists in all daily activities related to department workflow while adhering to established policies and procedures. This role involves the procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications, as well as maintaining equipment and technology necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. You will contribute to a positive work environment and provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense medications accordingly.
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors, and complaints.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory, and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications

• TN State Pharmacy Tech license.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Hospital experience preferred.
