Job Details Description Certified Pharmacy Technician General Summary A motivated, nationally certified pharmacy technician who has registered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP) to work under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in accordance with applicable state and federal laws to perform a variety of duties assisting the pharmacist. Responsibilities Fill Automated Dispensing Units and remove discontinued medications.Check for damaged and outdated IV fluids and medications in work area and remove outdated stock. Assure equipment for provision of patient care is available and in working order (e.g. crash carts, PARx hand helds, packager, and printers). Assure drugs in Pyxis in correct place. Prepare prescribed medications, including compounded formulations and IV's. Assure quality packaging, storage, safety, security, and distribution of medications.Train pharmacy technician traineesPerform additional duties as assigned Requirements 18 years of agePossess a high school diploma or GEDPass approved criminal background checksCompleted a Ohio State Board of Pharmacy approved training program (if required)National pharmacy technician certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)Registered with the OSBP as a certified pharmacy technicianRead, write, perform arithmetic calculations and follow verbal or written instructionsBasic computer skills and other common office equipment.Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with pharmacy, nursing, and other healthcare employees.Analytic ability to perform assigned tasks.
