Certified Peer Support Specialist In ALL Counties of NC!!!!

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team from all counties in NC. You only need to see clients in your county or nearby.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to individuals in recovery, helping them set and achieve personal goals.
• Facilitate group sessions that encourage sharing experiences and building community among peers.
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in their recovery process.
• Aid clients in identifying resources and services available within the community, including behavioral health and social work systems.
• Implement crisis management strategies to support individuals during critical moments.
• Offer mentorship by sharing personal experiences related to addiction counseling and mental health challenges.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress while adhering to confidentiality protocols.

Requirements

• MUST HAVE Certification as a Peer Specialist.
• Strong understanding of addiction counseling, behavioral health, and mental health counseling principles.
• Experience with crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
• Ability to mentor others effectively while demonstrating empathy and understanding of their experiences.
• Knowledge of community resources related to mental health and addiction support systems.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development in the fields of social work, behavioral health, or related areas is preferred.

Things to keep in mind

• This is intensive community-based work.
• An orientation/training for 1 day is mandatory.
• We DO NOT pay for mileage.
