Pay

$20.00 – $21.00 per hour

Schedule

Sunday‑Thursday, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm

Location: Sylmar, CA

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) required
• Lived experience: Personal experience as a consumer within the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems required
• Experience: One (1) year of full‑time experience providing non‑professional, consumer‑directed services in a mental health, healthcare, or social services setting preferred
• Certifications & compliance:
  • Valid First Aid certification from an accredited provider (e.g., American Red Cross)
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a driving record meeting company policy
  • Peer Support Specialist Certification – must be completed within one year of employment

Responsibilities

The position has primary responsibility for using their lived experience and knowledge of the system to provide outreach and engagement, support, advocacy, and direct services to program clients of all age ranges. Peer Support Counselors are people who have lived experience in the mental health, judicial, and/or social service systems in some capacity. They serve as role models, companions, educators and advocates to our clients.
