Responsibilities

• Utilize client self-determination and decision-making to teach and support the acquisition and exercise of recovery skills.
• Create self-determined recovery and maintenance plans.
• Utilize natural resources within the community.
• Facilitate the learning of skills to advance recovery, self-determination, and quality of life.
• Effectively facilitate groups to promote mutual learning, engagement, and integration of community resources such as cultural activities, spirituality, and other positive supports.
• Maintain professional standards of conduct, and model recovery type behavior.
• Adhere to NAADAC Code of Ethics, as well as policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.

Understand the impact of trauma and responses to trauma, demonstrate sensitivity and acceptance of individual experiences.
