Certified Peer Specialist - Part-time
Requirements
- Certified as a Peer Specialist (CPS) through the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB), including completion of an approved training program and the CPS examination.
- Lived experience in personal mental health recovery.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Active and valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in identifying and achieving personal recovery goals.
- Facilitate recovery planning using tools like WRAP and Psychiatric Advance Directives.
- Model effective coping strategies and self-help techniques.
- Promote community integration by assisting with social skills, housing, and vocational support.
- Educate consumers on available services and natural supports.
- Advocate for recovery-based services and combat stigma surrounding mental health.
- Collaborate with families, staff, and community supports to enhance recovery outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in supervision and required trainings.
- Uphold organizational policies and contribute to a positive, recovery-focused environment.
- Drive consumers using personal vehicle to support community-based goals and activities.

About the Role
At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do. We are seeking a part-time Certified Peer Specialist to join our Adult Behavioral Health team in Carlisle, PA. Schedule: Part-time; Flexible hours available Monday-Friday between 8 am-8 pm. Must be available on Wednesdays. Earn $15.50/hour.
Position Details: The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) provides person-centered support to individuals navigating their mental health recovery journey. Through individual and group interactions, the CPS uses lived experience to model recovery, promote wellness, and advocate for consumer needs. Peer engagement occurs in community settings where consumers’ goals are identified and pursued, requiring travel throughout Cumberland and Perry Counties. This role plays a vital part in fostering a recovery-oriented culture within both the organization and the community.

$15.50/hour
