About the role
The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist for their Mobilizing March program. This role supports individuals in recovery and wellness, collaborating with peers to achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness
- Support individuals in setting objectives and linking with others within the workforce
- Document progress notes and assist peers in identifying strengths, recovery & wellness goals
- Utilize CPS-specific training techniques and PEARLS training techniques to build rapport and support peers
- Maintain working knowledge of mental health trends and share recovery-oriented materials
- Communicate accurately and respectfully with peers and others within the workforce
- Provide peer services on a weekly basis, with a minimum of two visits monthly
- Conduct community transition planning for peers in various placements
- Obtain and maintain CPS certification annually
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
- Lived experience as a parent/guardian to a child with a behavioral health diagnosis or previous substance use
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse communities
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Office Products

Pay
Final pay rate will be dependent on a combination of qualifications such as experience and education.
Schedule
Weekly, with a minimum of two visits monthly.
