Certified Peer Recovery Specialist ACT - Adult Mental Health

Essential Functions

• Coaching and consultation to clients to promote recovery and self-direction.
• Assists clients with building skills that help promote their own recovery and self-sufficiency.
• Facilitates wellness management and recovery strategies (e.g., Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), or other deliberate wellness strategies).
• Participates in all team activities (e.g., treatment planning, daily team meeting, chart notes) equivalent to fellow team members.
• Models skills for and provides consultation to fellow team members.
• Provides cross-training to other team members in recovery principles and strategies.
• Administers medication(s) to clients.
• Makes assessments of client’s mental health status; provides supportive counseling as needed.
• Provides crisis support services.
• Arranges and provides transportation for clients to appointments, grocery stores, offices, etc.
• Engages clients on socialization outings to practice learned skills.
• Develops and implements Individual, Family, and Group treatment interventions.
• Links individuals to community resources to help meet basic needs.
• Provides a minimum of 75% of services in the community.
• Attends daily team meetings and provides updates on any interventions or individual needs within the last 24 hours.
• Collaborates effectively with colleagues to ensure client care aligns with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model and individual service plans.
• Evaluates individuals’ environment for safety, security, and negative factors.
• Assists with crisis coordination and related clinical support, to include coverage of on-call phone line.
• Aids in shadowing and training new employees as assigned.
• Maintains compliance with all regulatory boards, RBHA Policies and Procedures, Employee Handbook, and ACT model.
• Reports clinical concerns, as outlined in policy, in a timely manner to your Supervisor/Manager/Director and assists in disseminating information to and from the clinical team.
• Represents RBHA in a positive and professional manner.
• Attends training as required.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.
• Experience working with individuals with severe mental illness.
• Knowledge of recovery principles and strategies.
• Ability to administer medications safely and effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
