Certified Payroll Accountant

About the role

The Certified Payroll Accountant will assist in the preparation of weekly Certified Payroll reporting in compliance with the US Department of Labor, State, and Local guidelines. They will ensure Black & Veatch complies with Davis-Bacon and other related Acts, regularly coordinating with various departments to meet prevailing wage requirements.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the preparation of weekly Certified Payroll reporting
• Complete and file weekly Certified Payroll reports
• Research and submit required documents for federal, state, and local construction projects
• Coordinate with Human Resources and Construction Field Timekeeping to ensure accurate information for time and prevailing wage reporting
• Affirm classifications, hours worked, rates of pay, gross amounts earned, and deductions for construction craft
• Affirm proper classification for workers to receive the "Prevailing Wage Rate" for specific types of work
• Assist fellow Payroll co-workers with Payroll processing tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
• Typically 2+ years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in filing Certified Payroll reports
• Knowledge of Federal WH-347 and other State and Local Certified Payroll filing requirements
• Knowledge and understanding of Fringe Benefits and Burdens
• Experience in Payroll processing
