Under the direction of a supervisor or physician, you will receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment. Floating to other Cole Eye locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient information in the patient medical record.
• Perform stocking, maintenance, and other related duties as assigned, including maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform clinical and technical ophthalmic duties and basic patient care as directed by physician or supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of the written exam for Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
• Recent graduate of an Ophthalmic Technology Program (not yet COT certified) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) by Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).
• 1 year of experience providing direct patient care under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist.

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
• May require extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule

Works 7:00am to 5:00pm.

Pay

The pay range for new hires is $17.25 to $26.31 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it reflect the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
