About the role

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with professional and organizational standards of treatment as prescribed by the attending physician. This position models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient treatments based on written treatment plan, professional and Methodist Healthcare standards of patient treatment.
• Identifies, provides, and assesses effectiveness of patient and family education.
• Documents treatment and general condition of patient noting significant and subtle changes in patient’s condition in a timely and accurate manner.
• Promotes professional practice and communication among all members of Alliance Home Care.

Requirements

• Required - Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Preferred - No prior work experience.
• Required - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license from Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Occupational Therapy.
• Preferred - Heartsaver CPR AED certification from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records.
• Ability to communicate verbally and effectively with Associates, physicians, and other outside professionals.
• Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow.
