Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Part-Time

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Implement treatment plans and interventions designed to support student participation and independence within the educational environment.
  • Aid students in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional life skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, educational technicians, related service providers, and families to support student success.
  • Collect and maintain accurate data regarding student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to student programming as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining therapy equipment and materials.
  • Support students in classroom, small-group, and individual settings.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Current Maine licensure or eligibility for licensure as required.
  • Experience working with children and students with disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education processes and individualized educational programming.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) or ability to obtain.
