Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Implement treatment plans and interventions designed to support student participation and independence within the educational environment.
- Aid students in developing fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional life skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, educational technicians, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Collect and maintain accurate data regarding student progress toward IEP goals.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student programming as appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining therapy equipment and materials.
- Support students in classroom, small-group, and individual settings.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Current Maine licensure or eligibility for licensure as required.
- Experience working with children and students with disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of special education processes and individualized educational programming.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and establish positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) or ability to obtain.
