About the role
We are currently seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team at E-Therapy. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing occupational therapy services to students in PreK-12 schools, supporting their participation in meaningful activities and promoting independence in daily life skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting assessments of students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living.
- Implement individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in groups, targeting areas such as handwriting, motor coordination, self-care skills, and sensory regulation.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate therapy goals into students' educational plans and classroom activities.
- Monitor students' progress and document therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Aid in the selection and fabrication of adaptive equipment and assistive technology to support students' participation and independence.
- Support the OT in educating school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies and techniques to promote students' occupational performance and functional skills.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and provide input regarding students' occupational therapy needs.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Previous experience working as a COTA in a pediatric or school setting.
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, theories, and interventions relevant to children and adolescents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and related service providers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
- Experience in Education/Pediatrics.

Pay
Starting hourly rate $34/hour (depending on experience).

Full-time hours (30 hours/week - 4 days/week)
