About the Role
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support our rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Assisting Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment programs
- Providing therapy services to enhance residents' activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and functional independence
- Documenting therapy sessions and resident progress accurately
- Participating in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Recommending environmental modifications and providing adaptive equipment when appropriate
- Educating residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and treatment plans
- Maintaining therapy supplies, equipment, and treatment areas
Requirements
- Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education
- Certification through AOTCB
- Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred
- Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning is a plus
