About the role
We are excited to offer our new in-house model of Rehab at Hamilton Arms Center! Currently, we are adding a Full Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to our valuable team of therapists. PRN hours are also available, and new graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, organizing, developing, and delivering of Occupational Therapy Services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care is continuously maintained.
- Provide individual therapy services to residents according to care plans.
- Assist in resident assessment activities as needed.
- Assist in developing therapy plans for individual residents in conjunction with MDS.
- Keep the Therapist informed of any need to adjust therapy plans to match or support resident care plan goals.
- Brief residents on procedures involved in occupational therapy and prepare necessary equipment.
- Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, and resident assessments.
- Coordinate therapy appointments with other departments.
- Follow therapy department safety standards.
- Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and appearance of the therapy area.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program is required and must have a valid professional license by discipline for the state.
- A minimum of one year of related experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility is required. New graduates will be considered.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Demonstrate patience, courtesy, excellent customer service skills, dependability, attention to detail, and flexibility.
- Must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen.
