Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Day Institute Float

About the role

SSM Health Day Institute is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to float across our 10 specialized outpatient rehabilitation centers in the St. Louis Metro area. This role supports individuals recovering from traumatic injury or illness who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care. We use a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to build skills and maximize independence in a dynamic, collaborative environment focused on neurological and medically complex patients.

This full-time float position is based out of the Bridgeton Day Institute and covers all 10 locations in the metro St. Louis market.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of the therapy plan of care under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Delegate and direct supportive personnel assigned to patients to enhance patient care services.
• Consistently communicate with the supervising OT regarding scheduled patients to ensure identification of needs for assessment, reassessment, modification of treatment plans, and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participate in the education of patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care within the scope of practice.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
