Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), PRN
About the role
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Kent Hospital, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on helping patients regain their independence after illness or injury. Your responsibilities include administering therapeutic activities, monitoring patient progress, modifying interventions based on patient needs, and documenting care according to hospital policy and state regulations. You will also participate in discharge planning, caregiver education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Administer therapeutic activities
- Maintain patient records and documentation
- Modify interventions based on patient needs
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Document all care in accordance with hospital policy and state regulations
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Provide patient education and support
- Participate in discharge planning and caregiver education
Requirements
- Current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Prior experience in adult medical rehabilitation settings preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Experience in adult medical rehabilitation settings
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Pay
Hourly range: $35.00 per hour
Schedule
ARU, 8 hour shifts, 2 shifts monthly minimum, 1 weekend shift, 1 holiday annually
