Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to residents in accordance with established standards of practice under the direction of the Occupational therapist.
  • Conduct screening of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment as allowed by state practice act, company policy, and under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Auxiliary the Occupational therapist in the evaluation of residents as directed.
  • Auxiliary the Occupational Therapist in the development of treatment plans as directed.
  • Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with the Occupational therapist and other team members.
  • Carry out treatment according to the established treatment plan.
  • Monitor resident's response to intervention and discuss adaptation of treatment.
  • Participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as Occupational therapy Assistant in practicing states(s).
  • Assume responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certification.
