Certified Obstetric Surgical Technician
About the role
Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and provider.
Provides person-centered care with sensitivity and respect, collaborating with team members to achieve daily patient and family goals.
Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the provider, nurses, and/or anesthesia provider.
Responds to patient’s call lights promptly and notifies appropriate personnel of patient’s needs.
Gives accurate report to oncoming shift, may perform documentation including vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, and other patient care performed.
Greets, directs, informs, and schedules patients via phone or in person; ensures completion and communication of all patient intake information.
Ensures that work environment, equipment/supplies are clean, functioning properly, and orderly throughout the workday.
Responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and stocking supplies and equipment.
Aids in training other OB Techs, volunteers, students, and other hospital personnel.
Adapts to rapidly changing technology as evidenced by competency in technology and equipment used in the patient care setting.
Performs other clerical and business support tasks, as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Basic skills and related to aseptic/ sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
Qualifications
- State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Tech in Surgery - Certified (NTSC)
Skills
Knowledge of aseptic/ sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
