Bridge Program Details
Your Bridge CNA position can begin immediately following the end of your traveler contract (no gap in employment is required).
The position requires a commitment of three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week).
Bridge CNAs are employed in this role for 13 weeks.
After successfully completing the 13-week Bridge period, you may be considered for a regular MaineHealth CNA position and become eligible for benefits.
Unit Bio
Bean 5/IMC/AVU is a high-paced 34-bed medical intermediate care unit. Patient population is vast and includes specialties of acute on chronic states, respiratory failure, complex vascular, general surgical and neuroscience conditions, sepsis and multisystem organ failure. Constant assessment, coordination and interventions are essential. Within the Assisted Ventilation Unit (AVU) patients may require mechanical ventilation in chronic or weaning states; vasoactive medications and frequent assessments and interventions are required.
Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant – Acute Care role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
- Experience: Relevant experience preferred.
