Certified Nursing Assistant Skilled Nursing

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with ADL’s according to hospital procedures, reports all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to nurse in charge of patient.
• Ambulates patients and uses assist devices as appropriate to protect patient and staff member.
• Restocks rooms and maintains a safe and clean environment.
• Attends appropriate training programs, unit meetings and other mandatory meetings.
• Sets to be involved in unit improvements, quality projects, and other enhancements to patient care.
• Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Education: Must be actively enrolled in high school or an equivalent program required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous hospital or nursing home experience as a Patient Care Tech and/or completion of training in nursing school that covers Patient Care Tech type duties and/or Must attend UPHSL Patient Care Tech training. Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire. Certified Nursing Assistant required.
