Certified Nursing Assistant - PT

About the role

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is an essential member of the hospice care team who works under the supervisor of a Registered Nurse (RN) within Bluegrass Care Navigators’ Hospice Inpatient Units.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care and support services to meet the patient’s daily needs, enhancing comfort and maintaining a safe environment.
• Observes the patient’s condition and accurately reports and documents observations and the services provided.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently registered as a State Nurse Aide with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Completion of a recognized Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program.
• One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting, preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, and accurately document care provided.
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates empathy for individuals who are ill, frail, or impaired, and understands the philosophy of hospice care and the needs of the terminally ill.
