About the role
Piedmont Health Senior Care offers the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) to enhance the lives of seniors in the community. We focus on helping seniors maintain their independence and live at home for as long as possible by providing comprehensive, personalized healthcare and related services.
Responsibilities
- Assists with showering and dressing of participants per assignment
- Assists with toileting of participants within day center
- Assists with feeding of participants within day center
- Assists with ambulating participants within the day center
- Assists with pressure relief by repositioning (turn) participants every 2-3 hours
- Provides mouth care, skin care, hair care and nail care as assigned
- Uses hoyer lift and sit to stand for participant transfers when indicated
- Documents intake and output
- Provides perineal and catheter care when indicated
- Safely transfers participants using appropriate techniques and assists with ambulation
- Performs vital checks and other support as assigned in the clinic
- Follows infection control policies (handwashing; isolation and standard precautions)
- May assist with ambulatory and rehabilitative therapies as directed by licensed therapist (OT/PT and ST)
- May be assigned to attend participant appointments to assist with ambulation and/or toileting needs
- May be assigned to assist with kitchen/dining services as directed by Registered Dietitian
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of Nurse’s Aide, Home Health Aid or equivalent training course
- One year of experience with the frail or elderly preferred
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to provide assistance and services to people of all ages, including geriatrics
- Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PHSC and approved by CMS before working independently
- Certified Nursing Assistant I or certified within 90 days of employment
- Must become trained in CPR and First Aid upon employment
- Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Nurse’s Aide, Home Health Aid or equivalent training course. One year of experience with the frail or elderly preferred.
- Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Certified Nursing Assistant I or certified within 90 days of employment.

Pay
$16.43/Hourly - $22.08/Hourly (commensurate with years of experience)
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
