Certified Nursing Assistant Mental
Amery Hospital is looking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant/Mental Health Technician to join our Behavioral Health team. Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
About the role
The Nursing Assistant/Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing their skill and expertise to complement other health care providers.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the orientation of patients to the unit rules and regulations and introduces them to other community members.
- Performs patient care with attention to detail, patient safety, and comfort.
- Accurately measures and records patient vital signs, input, and output.
- Acts as patient advocate.
- Observes and reports specific patient behaviors related to patient problems/goals.
- Monitors patient behavior during non-structured activities; intervenes appropriately.
- Performs clerical tasks such as answering the phone, making up charts, filing, order entry, and ordering supplies.
- Assists in maintaining a therapeutic milieu environment; leads therapeutic patient activities as assigned.
- Assists staff in maintaining a clean, organized environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must maintain current certification from a certified nursing assistant training program.
Qualifications
Two years of relevant experience preferred.
Schedule
0.5 FTE - Evening shift, Thursdays along with every other weekend (8-hour shifts).
