Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision
- Perform age-appropriate care such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital sign recording
- Assist with transfers, repositioning, and mobility activities using proper techniques and equipment
- Support residents during meals, offering hydration and supplements, and creating a positive dining experience
- Document resident interactions, communicate changes to nursing staff, and collect specimens and vital signs
- Provide housekeeping, laundry, wellness, and recreational support to promote resident well-being
- Participate in departmental committees and maintain certifications and continuing education
Key Duties
- Deliver quality personal care and support to residents
- Assist nursing staff with procedures and documentation
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
- Encourage participation in wellness and recreational activities
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 16
- Required CNA certification or enrollment in a training program to obtain it within four months
- Ability to complete annual competency testing and ongoing education (minimum 12 hours/year)
- Knowledge of infection control policies, patient safety, and proper transfer techniques
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude towards residents
- For some roles, valid driver’s license and medical clearance to perform driving duties
