Certified Nursing Assistant II (NA II) - Outpatient / Day Surgery

Responsibilities

• Affords direct patient care responsibilities as directed by a licensed nurse.
• Assists healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procures equipment and supplies during emergencies.
• Demonstrates professionalism and flexibility to work in a healthcare environment.
• Displays active listening skills and provides emotional support to patients and families.
• Aids patients in reality orientation, offers support to patients and families, and assists with potentially aggressive patients.
• Maintains emotional and safety needs of patients.
• Provides assistance during patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Anticipates and addresses patient needs.
• Supports other staff in completing their duties.
• Seeks guidance as required.
• Performs tasks according to the unit-specific orientation/skills checklist.
• Adheres to standard precautions and principles of infection control.
• Collects and documents patient information and reports significant changes in patient condition to a registered nurse promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA Certification at the NA II level from NCBON.
• BLS Certification.
• Prior CNA experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
