As part of PruittHealth’s (PH) top initiatives, a new division of Personal Care Services (PCS), PH Family First, is being piloted in the metro Atlanta market. PH Family First is looking to hire a CNA to join a winning team, assisting patients and caregivers with personal hygiene needs to increase patient comfort.
Responsibilities
- Provide optimal comfort care, dignity, and privacy for the patient
- Obtain vital signs of assigned patient(s)
- Follow procedures for handling medical emergencies or other incidents affecting service delivery
- Report patient progress and problems to supervisory personnel
- Observe and report any changes in condition, including skin integrity
- Provide comfort care, companionship, shopping/errands, meal prepping, housekeeping, appointment scheduling, and medication reminders
- Assist with patient transfer, ambulation, and exercise
- Provide personal hygiene, including bathing, shaving, oral hygiene, skin care, dressing, toileting, and hair care
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the patient
- Coordinate care with agency RN Supervisor
- Maintain accurate and current records of visits
- Attend a minimum of 12 hours of annual in-service education and provide documentation to the agency
- Attend team meetings and staff development in-services and trainings
- Communicate effectively with patients and family members
- Provide a warm, friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, and patients
- Respond to expressed concerns with a helpful, caring demeanor and answer questions professionally
- Respond to change productively and handle additional projects as assigned
- Participate in agency surveys and any subsequently required reports
- Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to stay current with field changes
- Maintain current license/certification as required
- Honor patient’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to file complaints
- Comply with corporate compliance program
- Report job-related functions/tasks involving occupational hazards, including exposure to blood and body fluids
- Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, and smoking regulations
- Follow safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment
- Use Matrix Care documenting system after receiving training
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Active, current, unrestricted CNA certification in the state of practice
- One (1) year of experience working with adults in a healthcare setting
- Current registration in State Nurse Aide Registry as a Certified Nurse Aide
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
