About the role

We are seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate, hands-on care, support residents and their families, and contribute to a team that makes a real difference every day. Scheduled weekly hours: 16.

Don’t have a CNA certification? We will enroll you in a fully funded program to obtain your MN CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Work day shifts including every other weekend and holiday (part-time, 16 hours per week).
• Nurture a family-based care environment by learning about each resident and serving their needs.
• Perform basic care of patients under the general supervision of an RN in the skilled-nursing setting.
• Transport and transfer patients within the medical complex safely and efficiently.
• Assist with data collection to facilitate the delivery of delegated nursing care.
• Accurately document resident care in an electronic medical record and demonstrate basic computer competency.
• Provide basic care in areas of nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility, and safety.
• Ensure patient safety at all times.
• Participate in CNA meetings, unit staff meetings, and quality improvement activities.
• Perform other job-related responsibilities as requested by the Director of Nursing.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance; demonstrate flexibility in scheduling.
• Assist nursing staff in lifting and ambulating patients using appropriate practice guidelines.
• Maintain a clean environment and properly care for equipment.
• Demonstrate dependability, organizational skills, and effective time management by completing delegated work within established time frames.
• Adhere to Gundersen Health System’s Mission statement, policies, and confidentiality standards.

Requirements

• Minnesota Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or willingness to obtain certification through our fully funded program (starting as a Nursing Assistant until certified).
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, push, pull, reach, and squat on a regular basis.

Pay

• $20.55/hour for Certified Nursing Assistants; pay increases with experience.
• $19.55/hour for Nursing Assistants until CNA certification is obtained.
