Certified Nursing Assistant/Co-op Student- Med/Surg OMH 0.3 FTE
We are seeking compassionate and professional staff members to join the medical, surgical and orthopedic unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital!
About the Role:
The Medical Surgical Unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital is focused on the needs of the patient and helping one another to meet those needs. Our patient management on both units may include telemetry monitoring, continuous medication infusions, wounds, varieties of tubes and drains. There are approximately 60 staff members that include experienced and newer staff including, CNA’s, RN’s, and Unit Clerks. Supported by the Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Educator and Operations Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the nursing team with a variety of patient care activities related to services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of the patients.
- Assist with administrative type tasks for the nursing team.
- Absorb patient’s personal hygiene and dressing changes as needed.
- Support the nursing staff as needed throughout the shift both clinically and administratively.
Requirements:
- Enrollment in high school or high school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Wisconsin (Active or expired and on the registry)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Associate (AHA); or ability to obtain upon hire
