PeaceHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)- Rehabilitation Services for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.35 – $33.16. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
About the Role
This position is currently based at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend and will transition to PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital no later than the end of September 2026. Caregivers hired into this role should be comfortable working in a rehabilitation-focused environment and understand that their primary work location will move from the main hospital to PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital as part of this planned transition. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities
- Affords direct and indirect patient care by performing tasks involving basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- Performs basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
- Aids patients with personal care which may include: bathing; mouth and skin care; grooming and dressing; toileting assistance; eating and hydration.
- Provides patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
- Maintains unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
- Documents relevant patient care data.
- May provide clerical support to the unit; doing order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience.
- Preferred: experience in an acute care facility.
- Required: Certified Nurse Assistant - Oregon.
- Basic Life Support Skills.

Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend: CNAs may be able to work in another nursing unit within Sacred Heart Medical Center RiverBend provided that they have completed the necessary CareConnect training, unit specific competencies and have been deemed competent by a leader of the unit. Including but not limited to the unit manager, assistant nurse manager or clinical nurse educator they are floating to.
Working Conditions
- Lifting: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Pushing/Pulling: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
- Performing hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA).
- Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non-patient): up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Mental/Visual: Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
