Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), PT Day Shift, Labor and Delivery

About the role

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant for our Labor and Delivery Department through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities

• Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Consider special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations as required by area of assignment
• Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives
• Commit to personal and professional development to adapt effectively to ongoing change
• Present a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization
• Follow the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Receive report from the Registered Nurse
• Ensure a culture of safety
• Identify resources necessary for safe delivery of patient care and utilize them appropriately
• Identify and report malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
• Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam required
• Maryland CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License required – must be certified and on the State of Maryland Registry
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively
• Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred

Schedule

• Employment Type: Part-time
• Hours per Week: 24 hrs/week, Two 12hr shifts
• Shift Type: Days, 7a-7pm
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend rotation
• Holiday Requirements: Follow company holiday calendar
• Shift Differential Eligible: Yes

Pay

$19.21 - $24.90
