The Certified Nursing Assistant – Acute Care role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.
About the role
- R6 is a dynamic 24-bed neurosurgical / trauma unit with an embedded 9-bed neuro-focused Intermediate Care Unit (IMC).
- Bean 2 is a 12-bed Total Joint Center.
- This position offers the R6/B2 CNA an opportunity to care for a diverse patient population in a supportive environment as an integral member of a collaborative team of highly trained staff.
- The R6 patient population includes adults and older adolescents with neurological and orthopedic conditions including closed head injuries, strokes, brain tumors, seizure disorders, multi-traumas, and conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention.
- In R6 IMC, closer observation, collaboration, and teamwork amongst the RNs and CNAs is required to support care needs of these higher acuity patients.
- The Bean 2 patient population consists of adults who have undergone joint replacement surgeries, and this unit serves as the Joint Center for our nationally recognized and Joint Commission accredited joint replacement program.

- As a teaching unit with frequent student rotations, this collaborative learning environment welcomes new CNAs and other learners excited to be part of this supportive team.
- The compassionate Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and CNAs on R6/IMC/B2 work closely to support each other in meeting patients’ needs and ensuring the highest standards of care are met.

Requirements
- Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required.
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
