Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Med-Surg - Loan Forgiveness - Full Time, Nights (Hollywood)
About the role
The Certified Nursing Assistant aids professional and technical nursing personnel by performing a variety of duties related to patient care, including taking and recording vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a clean and safe unit environment. Additional responsibilities include stocking supplies, operating hospital equipment, performing clerical tasks, and other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Reporting and Documentation of Care:
- Accurately measures and records patient weights and vital signs.
- Recognizes and reports changes in patient condition, takes appropriate action, and documents activities.
- Receives, inventories, and secures patient belongings as appropriate.
- Patient Comfort and Privacy:
- Assists patients with hygiene, elimination, skin care, comfort measures, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while respecting age, gender, culture, and preferences.
- Maintains patient privacy and ensures a clean, safe environment.
- Follows Infection Control procedures and HIPAA compliance.
- Collaboration for Patient Care:
- Assists with patient care activities as directed by licensed nurses, including specimen collection/transport, turning and positioning, and patient transportation.
- Communication:
- Engages in caring behaviors and demonstrates proactive, deliberate, and thoughtful actions in work activities.
- Uses independent judgment and decision-making appropriately.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Demonstrated prior patient care experience.
- Certification as a Nurse Assistant (CNA) in the state of CA.
- AHA Basic Life Support certification.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).

Pay
Pay Rate: $25.84 - $33.26 per hour.
$6,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible candidates with one or more years of experience. Some restrictions apply. Current and former hospital employees may not be eligible. Bonus payments are made in increments over 12 months to active employees in good standing.
