About the Role

The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides resident-centered care in a long-term care setting, assisting with daily living activities, basic health needs, and psychosocial support under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital signs.
  • Support mobility, transfers, and range of motion exercises.
  • Help with meals, snacks, and hydration to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Document resident interactions, care outcomes, and communicate changes to nursing staff.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry tasks to maintain a clean environment.
  • Encourage participation in wellness and recreational activities.
  • Collect non-invasive specimens and provide psychosocial support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum 18 years old.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required or in process; training provided if needed.
  • Prior experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Ability to follow infection control policies and proper transfer techniques.
  • Maintain continuing education credits and certifications annually.
  • Possibly hold additional certifications such as QMAP, depending on location.
  • Must be medically qualified to perform driving duties if applicable.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
