Job Purpose

As part of PruittHealth’s (PH) top initiatives, a new division of Personal Care Services (PCS), PH Family First, is being piloted in the metro Atlanta market. PH Family First is seeking a CNA to join a winning team, assisting patients and caregivers with personal hygiene needs to enhance patient comfort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide optimal comfort care, dignity, and privacy for the patient.
  • Obtain vital signs of patient(s) assigned.
  • Follow procedures for handling medical emergencies or other incidents affecting service delivery.
  • Report patient progress and problems to supervisory personnel.
  • Observe and report any changes in condition, including skin integrity.
  • Provide comfort care, companion, shopping/errands, meal prepping, housekeeping, appointment scheduling, and medication reminders.
  • Aid with patient transfer, ambulation, and exercise.
  • Perform personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, shaving, oral hygiene, skin care, dressing, toileting, and hair care.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the patient.
  • Cookordination care with agency RN Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of visits.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Attend a minimum of 12 hours of annual in-service education and provide documentation to the agency.
  • Participate in team meetings and staff development in-services and trainings.
  • Communicate well with patient and family members, providing a warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude.
  • Respond to expressed concerns with a helpful, caring demeanor, answering questions professionally.
  • Handle change productively and manage additional projects as assigned.
  • Participate in agency surveys and any required reports.
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to stay updated on industry changes.
  • Honor patient’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to file complaints.
  • Report job-related functions/tasks involving occupational hazards, such as exposure to blood and body fluids, as necessary.
  • Comply with established safety regulations, including fire protection and prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
  • Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, and an active, current, unrestricted CNA certification in the state of practice.
  • One (1) year of experience working with adults in a healthcare setting.

Minimum Licensure/Certification

  • Current registration in the State Nurse Aide Registry as a Certified Nurse Aide.
  • Valid CPR certification.
