About the Role
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA I and II) provides direct, hands-on care to residents, supporting their quality of life and safety in accordance with facility policies, standards of care, and regulations. The CNA reports to the Staff Nurse and handles tasks involving resident assistance, infection control, safety hazards, and emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Perform resident care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility, and use of medical equipment.
- Ensure safety by identifying hazards and responding promptly to emergencies.
- Practice infection control techniques and report any infection-related concerns.
- Communicate changes in resident conditions and assist residents respectfully and timely.
- Support social activities, participate in staff training, and assist with restorative care and resident projects.
- Promote residents' rights, dignity, and social interactions.
- Assist with orientation of new staff and seek guidance for complex issues.
Requirements
- Completion of an approved CNA training program with passing competency exams.
- Knowledge of resident care best practices, exposure control, and safety protocols.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, assist with mobility, and perform physical tasks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
Skills
- Ability to use basic computer systems for documentation.
