Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Extended Recovery (Days)(Part-Time)

About the Role

As an Extended Recovery Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will provide essential support to registered nurses by delivering high-quality patient care to post-operative orthopedic patients. Your role includes encouraging early, frequent mobilization, assisting with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, and ensuring patient safety throughout their recovery journey. Schedule

Part-time, 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week). Two (2) 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, including built-in weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
• Registered with the State of Nebraska as a CNA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior Nurse Assistant experience preferred.
• 1+ years of customer service work in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care functions in compliance with established protocols, policies, procedures, and standards based on individual patient needs under the direction of licensed nursing personnel.
• Function as a team member by demonstrating initiative and flexibility in completing workload to provide high-quality, efficient patient care.
• Interact with patients and other healthcare professionals using appropriate communication skills to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality of care.
• Perform clerical tasks and patient registration activities to ensure efficient workflow in the unit.
• Maintain patient medical records by following correct procedures to ensure accurate and timely availability of patient information.
• Comply with safety activities, policies, and procedures, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
• Participate in teaching, orienting, and guiding other employees by sharing knowledge and mastered skills.
• Communicate effectively to solve problems in routine situations.
• Demonstrate patience, self-confidence, maturity, compassion, and remain a team player.
• Perform all other duties assigned for which competency has been demonstrated.

Physical Requirements

This position is classified as Medium Work, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements exceed those for Light Work.

Must be able to pass a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check, and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
